Reflection #3

Today we started on our project pages 1-3 which was the start of our report. We had to give information on what we were doing and what we were trying to accomplish.

Reflection #2

Today we looked through each other sketches and picked the one that stood out the most. We had to give a short description on why we picked it.

Reflection #1

Today we tried to build our first model on how our chair should look. We could only use the paper that we were giving to do it.

Cardboard Chair Reflection

However, while working on the project I was really thinking about the sustainability of such a chair. The material is for sure recyclable and after all you can even compost it. Actually the idea is to have a chaise-long too. I think these kind of furniture I would see in many " temporary situations". Growing children, moving all the times students. Even in the catastrophe endangered areas where the quick availability of the furniture can be an asset. Of course, laminated corrugated cardboard is much more resistant but is not the " Luis XV Chair". Corrugated cardboard, made from a natural renewable resource, has one of the best environmental records. A hard look at every scrap of cardboard can lead the creative mind to see it as a valuable raw material. This is my opportunity to discover the potential of corrugated cardboard.
